I remember when I was a kid and Valentine’s Day was a big deal in our school classes. I remember bringing my cardboard box to class, where we would spend several hours knee deep in red and pink construction paper and glitter galore (and Elmer glue). We would cut out hearts and try to make pretty lace and use doilies and decorate that box to be the most beautiful valentine box ever. I remember how excited I would be about putting Valentine’s into each others boxes and hoping and praying that the cute boy that I had been pinning for had given me one and maybe signed it XOXO. Oh those were the days!
My children’s school has a Valentine’s Day box contest in 5th grade. They are encouraged to make the gaudiest, ugliest, largest, most incredible boxes you could think of. Through the years I have watched as kids carried out palm tree boxes, Minion boxes, Sponge Bob boxes.. all decorated in the most garish of fashion. Each child would have the biggest grin on their face and in some cases, parents help to carry the monstrosity. These are the days.
With kids enjoying the holiday, I want to make sure that I capture these memories for them through digital scrapbooking. As I thought about what layout I would create this year, I headed to the gallery to find some inspiration. Here are my favorite 8 digital scrapbooking Valentine’s Day layouts featuring mushy happy hearts! (Please stop by their pages and wish them a happy Valentine’s Day!).
